Reynosa,
Mexico \\\
A number of years back we began sending teams
to Reynosa during
the summer for short term trips in conjunction with another
organization. When this other group eventually decided to
stop organzing trips to Reynosa we had a decision to make: do we cut
ties with the people and churches that we have had the opportunity to
impact in city filled with need, or do we do the keep going back for
the sake of the increasing impact that God might see fit to make
through us? We chose the second option! All of our efforts in
Reynosa are done in conjunction
with our sister church, Prince of Peace Bible Church. Our efforts
in Reynosa are typically broken into house building trips and summer
trips.
house building trips
We
send several teams at different parts of the year with the primary goal
of sharing the good news of Christ through the efforts of building
houses for pastors (to help further their ministries) as well as
families in need. These trips have proven to be amazing
opportunities for the growth of our people and for watching God change
the lives of the people we go to minister to. So far, BCBC has built five
houses in Reynosa with two more planned for 2008.
Reynosa summer trips
To further strength those
relationships previously built in Reynosa, we also do large trips each
summer that involve ministry teams that focus on work projects, VBS, women's
ministry, sports evangelism, food preparation
and hospital visitation. Our
Reynosa teams are typically multi-generational. Our
trips in recent years have comprised close to 40 people each.
student-focus
trips \\\
In addition to our students' annual mission
trips to Acuna, Mexico (and past student-focused trips to Reynosa) our
students have also had the opportunity to do short term missions in
Chicago, Montana, New Mexico.
Kenya \\\
In conjunction with one of
our missionary familys (the Saums), we had the opportunity to
participate in several conferences in Kenya that annually equip
hundreds of Kenya's police chaplains.
Romania \\\
We have sent
teams to
Romania with focuses on both service and straight-forward evangelism.
God has always been good to bless the cause of the Gospel as we have
ministered with the Elpis Foundation.
